Your first 30 days with BookAdsAI
Most of what happens in your first month with BookAdsAI is setup and waiting, and that's on purpose. On day one you connect a United States Amazon Ads profile and your books sync in Paused. Nothing changes in Amazon until you set a book Live, put campaigns on its allowlist, and a report for that book lands. Bid changes need at least 5 reported clicks on a target, so on a quiet book the first one can take weeks. BookAdsAI does not guarantee sales, royalties, or profit in any month.
Day one: account, connect, sync
You create an account and connect your Amazon Ads profile through Login with Amazon. The grant is advertising::campaign_management, which is Amazon's Advertising API. It doesn't open your KDP bookshelf. Only a US profile gets selected, so if your campaigns live on the UK or German marketplace, this version won't see them.
Then the sync runs. BookAdsAI pulls the books behind your product ads and can find your other Kindle titles through an author lookup once your pen name is confirmed. If a title is missing, add the pen name in Settings or paste the ASIN. Every book arrives Paused. A Paused book costs you nothing extra and the daily job leaves it alone, so there's no rush on the first afternoon.
The first week: caps, allowlists, one Live book
Open each book you care about and look at two things. The daily spend cap starts at $25. Drop it if that's more than you'd want Amazon to spend on that title in a day. The allowlist holds the Amazon campaign IDs that Autopilot is allowed to touch. Sync usually fills it from the book's product ads, but read it anyway, because a campaign that isn't on the list won't be edited.
We'd suggest setting one book Live first, not the whole catalog. Live is per book. Turning one on doesn't turn on the others, and you can flip it back to Paused whenever you like. Starter ($29 a month), Pro ($49) and Agency ($99) all run the same Autopilot, so the plan you picked doesn't change any of this.
Weeks two to four: reports, cap pauses, and the first bid steps
The daily job runs after Amazon's reports land. Clicking Run now does the same review using whatever rows are already stored. If today's report for a book hasn't come in, nothing changes that day. You'll see that in the change log as a skip, and it's normal.
Two kinds of change can show up. If a book's reported spend hits its cap, Autopilot pauses the eligible allowlisted campaigns and skips bid changes for that run. And once a keyword or product target has at least 5 reported clicks plus some spend, its bid can move. The step is never more than 10%, it won't push a bid above $2.50 or below $0.20, and ACOS decides the direction. Above 40% it steps down, under 15% it steps up, and anywhere in between it stays where it is.
Here's the part people don't expect. On a book that gets a handful of clicks a week, plenty of targets won't reach 5 clicks inside the first month, and those bids won't move at all. That isn't a bug. The rule waits for enough data, and zero clicks is below the bar.
Around day 30: reading the month honestly
Look at the dashboard and the change log together. Profit there means royalties minus ad spend from reports that landed. A missing report shows as zero, not a guess, and the figure doesn't subtract your BookAdsAI subscription. The change log lists every cap pause, bid step, skip, and refusal, which is a record of what ran. It doesn't claim any of it raised sales.
From there you can raise or lower caps, add campaigns to the allowlist, set more books Live, or set everything back to Paused. If it isn't worth it for your books, cancel the subscription yourself in the Stripe customer portal from Settings. Your Amazon campaigns stay in your Ads account, and Amazon keeps billing for clicks until you change them there.
How long until BookAdsAI changes a bid?
Only after the book is Live, the campaign is on its allowlist, a report has landed, and the target has at least 5 reported clicks and some spend. On a busy book that can be the first week. On a quiet one it can take more than a month.
Will anything change in Amazon on day one?
No. Synced books start Paused, and connecting or syncing doesn't spend money or edit campaigns. Changes only start once you set a book Live and its report lands.
Will I see more sales in the first month?
BookAdsAI does not guarantee sales, royalties, or profit in the first month or any other. It applies a spend cap and bounded bid steps to campaigns you allowlist, and the change log shows exactly what it did.
How do I stop after the first month?
Set books back to Paused, cancel in the Stripe customer portal from Settings, or both. Canceling doesn't delete your Amazon campaigns, and Amazon still bills the Ads account for clicks.
Use BookAdsAI
Create an account, then connect a US Amazon Ads profile from Settings. New books stay Paused until you set a daily spend cap, confirm the allowlist, and turn that book Live.
Profit = royalties − ad spend, from reports that landed. Cancel in Stripe yourself.
