What is BookAdsAI?
BookAdsAI is Amazon Ads autopilot for Kindle authors, published at bookadsai.com. You connect a US Amazon Ads profile, sync books that belong to you, set a daily spend cap, choose an allowlist of campaigns, and optionally set a book Live.
Autopilot is a rules-based check on reported clicks, spend, and sales. It is not a forecast, and it does not invent keywords. BookAdsAI does not guarantee a profit.
Does BookAdsAI manage Amazon KDP ads?
BookAdsAI works with Amazon Ads for books you advertise. Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) authors often use those ads, especially Sponsored Products, to promote a Kindle title. BookAdsAI is not KDP itself.
It does not edit your KDP listing, upload a manuscript, or replace KDP royalty reports. Login with Amazon on BookAdsAI grants the Advertising API. It is not a KDP listings API.
Is BookAdsAI part of Amazon?
No. BookAdsAI is not part of Amazon. Amazon Ads, Kindle, and KDP are Amazon services with their own accounts and policies.
When you connect Amazon Ads, BookAdsAI can read the US advertising profile you authorize. For a book you set Live, the daily job may pause or rebid campaigns on that book’s allowlist after reports land. Amazon still bills the payment method on the Ads account.
Which Amazon Ads account can I connect?
BookAdsAI connects one United States Amazon Ads profile. The Login with Amazon scope is advertising::campaign_management. The production return URL is bookadsai.com/api/auth/amazon/callback.
Profiles outside the US are not selected. Use a profile you control. An account is for one author, including that author’s pen names, not for someone else’s catalog.
Can I use BookAdsAI for Amazon ads outside the United States?
No. This version syncs and runs Autopilot against a US Amazon Ads profile only. Connecting does not add UK, DE, CA, or other marketplaces.
If your books are advertised only on a non-US profile, BookAdsAI will not manage those campaigns.
Can BookAdsAI import my whole KDP bookshelf?
No. Amazon Ads sign-in is not a KDP listings API, and BookAdsAI does not use Amazon’s Selling Partner API or Product Advertising API to read your bookshelf.
After Connect it keeps Sponsored Products product ads (and Sponsored Brands or Sponsored Display product ads when that same grant can read them) whose jacket author is a confirmed owner or pen name. It can then look up other Kindle titles for those names only. A byline that is someone else is dropped. ASINs that show up only as competitor product targets are not added as your books.
How does BookAdsAI sync books after Connect?
Connect saves the US profile and imports that author’s shelf: advertised product-ad ASINs you own, plus Kindle titles for confirmed author names when lookup is available. Titles come from campaign names or the product page. Covers come from Amazon’s public image CDN, then a product lookup when that is configured.
Never-advertised titles need that author lookup. If a pen name is missing, add it in Settings. Pasting ASINs is a backup, not the main path. Running import again does not duplicate ASINs. Every new row stays Autopilot Paused.
Does Autopilot turn on when books are imported?
No. Autopilot stays Paused on every new book until you set that book Live. Connect, catalog refresh, author lookup, and pasted ASINs do not turn it on.
A Paused book is left alone. The daily job records that it skipped the book and does not change bids or pause campaigns for that title.
What do Live and Paused mean in BookAdsAI?
Live and Paused are per book, and they mean what they say. Paused means Autopilot will not change that book. Live means the daily job may act on that book only: allowlisted campaigns, after reports land, inside the spend cap and bid rules.
Setting one book Live does not turn on the others. Live is a switch you control. It is not a performance claim.
How do I turn BookAdsAI Autopilot on?
- Create a BookAdsAI account. Open bookadsai.com/signup, create an account, and sign in. One account is for one author, including that author’s pen names. Connect only an Amazon Ads profile you control.
- Connect a US Amazon Ads profile. In Settings, use Login with Amazon. BookAdsAI selects a United States Ads profile only, with scope advertising::campaign_management. The production return URL is bookadsai.com/api/auth/amazon/callback. Other marketplaces are not connected.
- Review the books that sync. After Connect, BookAdsAI lists Sponsored Products you advertise when the jacket author is yours, and it can add other Kindle titles for those confirmed names. It cannot read the KDP bookshelf directly. Add a missing pen name in Settings. Paste ASINs only as a backup. New books stay Paused, and importing again does not duplicate ASINs.
- Set a daily spend cap and an allowlist. Open the book. The daily spend cap starts at $25 until you change it. The allowlist is the Amazon campaign IDs Autopilot may touch. Sync can place IDs from that book’s product ads on the list. If the allowlist is empty, Autopilot will not change campaigns.
- Set that book to Live. Turn Autopilot Live on that book only. Paused is the default, and every other book stays Paused until you set it Live. Live means the rules on this page may run. It does not guarantee sales, royalties, or profit.
- Wait for the daily job after reports land. The daily job skips a Live book until today’s report is stored. It can then pause allowlisted campaigns when reported spend hits the cap, or move a bid by at most 10%, never above $2.50 and never below $0.20. Run now on the book page reviews the latest reported rows already stored. Missing numbers are not invented. Applied changes are written to that book’s change log.
Which campaigns can BookAdsAI Autopilot change?
Only campaigns whose Amazon campaign IDs are on that book’s allowlist. Sync can place IDs from that book’s product ads onto the list, and you can edit the list on the book page. Campaigns that are not listed are not edited.
If the allowlist is empty, Autopilot will not touch campaigns. A campaign name that matches Launch Recovery is refused even if its ID is on the list.
How does the BookAdsAI daily spend cap work?
Each book has a daily spend cap in US dollars. New books start at $25 until you set another amount. When today’s reported spend for that book reaches the cap, the daily job pauses the eligible allowlisted campaigns and does not also change bids on that run.
You can change the cap. It is a pause rule that runs after a report is stored. It is not a promise that Amazon will stop a click in the same second the cap is crossed, and it does not cap campaigns that are not on the allowlist.
How does BookAdsAI change bids?
On a Live book, a bid can move only when reported rows exist for that keyword or product target, the target has at least 5 clicks, and it has some reported spend. The step is at most 10% of the current bid. The bid is never set above $2.50 or below $0.20. If that step would not change the bid, Autopilot leaves it.
ACOS in this rule is reported ad spend divided by reported ad-attributed sales, not royalties. Above 40% ACOS, including spend with no sales, the bid steps down. Under 15% ACOS, the bid steps up. At or between 15% and 40%, the bid stays put. Book-level totals without target rows do not produce a bid change.
What happens if Amazon reports have not landed?
The daily job waits. If today’s report for that book is not stored yet, it does not change bids. BookAdsAI does not invent spend, sales, or royalties to fill the gap.
On the dashboard, profit uses royalties minus ad spend from reports that landed. A missing report shows as zero, not an estimate from another day. Run now on the book page reviews the latest reported rows already stored. If those rows are missing, it does not invent them either.
What will BookAdsAI Autopilot refuse to do?
It will not launch Recovery campaigns, raise a bid without the 10% and $2.50 limits, or select AUTO_FOR_SALES targeting by default. It will not invent spend, sales, or royalties. It will not add product targets before an ENABLED product ad exists for the book ASIN. It will not edit a campaign that is not on the allowlist.
The daily job also does nothing to a Paused book, and it does not treat an empty allowlist as permission to pick campaigns for you.
Does BookAdsAI invent keywords or forecast sales?
No. Bid changes use clicks, spend, and sales that were already reported for a target. BookAdsAI does not forecast royalties, invent search terms, or backfill a missing report with an average.
A target with fewer than 5 clicks is left unchanged, even if you hope it will become profitable. There is no separate “find me winning keywords” mode.
How does BookAdsAI calculate profit?
Profit on the dashboard is royalties minus ad spend, from reports that landed. Missing reports display as zero. They are not guessed.
That figure is not ACOS, and it is not a projection of future royalties. ACOS for bid changes is reported ad spend divided by reported ad-attributed sales. Profit and ACOS answer different questions, and neither one is a guarantee.
Does BookAdsAI guarantee profit, sales, or royalties?
No. BookAdsAI does not guarantee profit, sales, royalties, rankings, page reads, or a return on ad spend. A spend cap, an allowlist, and Live or Paused are limits you set. They are not outcomes.
BookAdsAI does not publish success rates, awards, or claims that authors earn a stated amount. Amazon Ads performance and KDP royalties remain outside what the software can promise.
How much does BookAdsAI cost, and how do I cancel?
Public monthly prices are Starter $29, Pro $49, and Agency $99. Those are the Stripe amounts listed at bookadsai.com/pricing. The app does not unlock a different catalog or a different Autopilot because the plan name is Pro or Agency. Checkout uses the first Stripe price configured on the server, which is typically Starter.
Card numbers stay at Stripe. After you subscribe, Settings opens the Stripe customer portal so you can cancel the subscription yourself. Canceling billing does not by itself delete the Amazon Ads campaigns in your Amazon account.
Does a higher BookAdsAI plan change how Autopilot works?
No. Starter, Pro, and Agency are three monthly amounts for the same Autopilot. BookAdsAI does not gate spend caps, allowlists, catalog sync, or bid rules by plan name.
Pick the amount you intend to be billed. Do not expect Agency to raise the $2.50 bid ceiling or to turn Autopilot on for you.
Who is responsible for Amazon Ads spend?
You are. Amazon Ads charges the payment method on the Ads account you connect. BookAdsAI can pause allowlisted campaigns after reported spend hits the cap you set, and it can move bids inside the rules above, on the daily job.
It cannot undo a click that already happened. BookAdsAI is not Amazon and is not liable for ad performance, royalties, or KDP account status. The terms page is bookadsai.com/terms.
Does BookAdsAI keep a record of Autopilot changes?
Yes. When Autopilot skips a book, pauses at the cap, adjusts a bid, or refuses a Launch Recovery campaign, it writes that action to the book’s change log. The log is there so you can see what ran. It is not a promise that the change improved sales.
You still have the Amazon Ads console. BookAdsAI does not hide the underlying campaigns from you.
Who publishes BookAdsAI, and what customer data is sold?
BookAdsAI is the product at bookadsai.com. What the app stores, including account email, the Amazon Ads connection, catalog rows, reported spend and royalties, the change log, and Stripe customer ids, is described at bookadsai.com/privacy.
BookAdsAI does not sell your catalog, Ads reports, or email list. Card numbers stay at Stripe. To remove the BookAdsAI account itself, email support@bookadsai.com from the address on the account.
